The government of Mexico City is restricting cars registered out of state; specifically, tax free morelos plates. In the name of emissions according to them. The argument is undermined when they mention 55 thousand cars owned by Chilangos are registered in Morelos. And ignoring Morelos and Mexico City have the same emissions standards
From 6AM to 10AM they wont be able to drive.

Sounds good to me. Not fair to let people get away with what’s essentially a tax cheat. Though in the US (and thus presumably in Mexico) I’d rather just have licensing and registration handled by the Feds rather than the states .

I have argued for that. The tax used to be federal, but Felipe Calderon gave that responsibility to the states
